A proud king wants a castle higher than his neighbours’ –
with disastrous consequences.
1 The Three Billy
Goats Gruff
A small children’s favourite. Three billy goats need to cross a
bridge to the field on the other side but the ugly, goat-eating troll
who lives under the bridge won’t let them. Can the goats defeat
the troll? A story with lots of joining in, including an action song.
1 The Tee-shirt
A sailor goes to sea in his new boat but crashes three times. This story
uses one of the children’s names on the sail of his boat.

A man grows a turnip but it is too big to pull out of the ground. He gets
his wife and children to help him … but that’s still not enough.

A poor Scots bagpiper with very cold feet finds a dead man in the snow.
He decides to take the dead man’s boots, but has great difficulty
removing them. A comically gruesome story with an unexpected outcome,
